The Conceptual Landscape
This on-going series of photographs came about as an off-shoot to my Betcher inspired Sacred Space images. From the age of 3, my next 30 years were spent growing up in eastern Canada (particularly Quebec and Ontario). I'd looked at these scenes continually as I drove and rode about the countryside, but never really saw them. It was on a visit to eastern Ontario in the summer of 2011 that these scenes took on new meaning for me. They are a constant, an integral part of the Canadian landscape. Often overlooked by most of those who speed along the backroads, I decided to drive slow and found myself stopping almost every half mile to shoot. I'm hoping to continue shooting this series in the summer of 2012.
